I have not posted in a long time, or payed a lot of attention to Oppo, because I have been very busy. As some of you may know, my father that once was going to buy me a used car to replace my other used car decided he wanted to give me a new one. The budget was strictly $20K. How the hell did I end up with a MK7 Golf? Heres the story

Kinja'd!!!

As my old car was being put up for sale, my family was preparing everything because my sister was going to leave for collage in July. The last details we worked out was to change the battery of her car, a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta. We went to the dealership to replace the battery, and thought wed give a look around and ask about the car I was almost 100% sure I would be getting. The Volkswagen Polo.

The Polo was a fantastic proposition for any 17 year old. It had a peppy 1.2 Litre engine with a Turbo, a 6 speed manual gearbox, Panoramic sunroof, leather, and an array of features I would enjoy. Also, I liked how it resembled a lot more the MK1 Golf GTI (Engine output, size, weight) than the current Golf GTI. We went to see a nice brown Polo with the DSG, and were met with Oscar, the salesman that currently is finding my MK7 Golf.

We talked for a while of the car, and asked to go to the back to see if they had any other Polos in the trim I wanted. The dealerships in Mexico arent to the standard of the American dealerships where there are about 200+ cars on the lot. My guess, about 50, and they are all parked within inches of each other. As we both were looking for the Polo, I glanced at another car that immediately caught my eye. As the salesman said "Hey, check what just arrived to us", my father and I were already gawking it. It was the new Golf.

Kinja'd!!!

It wowed us with its contemporary but modern looks, its width, its features, and its interior. There were no other Polos there, so we went for our Jetta, and left. I was in the city of Monterrey for more than a week, and when we came back my father told me something VERY surprising on the way back.

"Vicente, you know what. Hell with the Polo, lets get the Golf. I think its a much better car, and just looked amazing"

Alright, I said. But inside of me a whole explosion of happiness was going on. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon to Tampico, and went to see the car that night. It was outside as a Demonstration car, and we were both convinced this is what we would get. I arrived home after that and immediately started configuring the car exactly how I wanted. The only version with a stick was the base Comfortline, but the only feature I wanted it to have was the Sunroof. Very conveniently, it was an a la carte option on the specs sheet, along with parking sensors. The only package you could add, was the Sport Pack, which included Leather, 17 inch wheels, bluetooth connectivity, and not only a sunroof, but a whole panoramic opening glass roof. It was a nice combo of features, but the only thing I needed was the sunroof. On Tuesday, we went to the dealership.

Kinja'd!!!

Right in the middle of the dealership there it was. A Pacific Blue Manual Comfortline with the Sport Package, and the Parking Sensors. I liked it. We saw it, got in, started it, and checked it out from every corner. This car was it, it was perfect. And who was there to seize the deal? Well of course, Oscar! We talked to him about our interest and if they had any others on the lot, as well as the optional sunroof. He told us that that optional sunroof was a small rectangle, and not the full panoramic one in the blue Golf. The only way to get that panoramic sunroof was of course by adding the Sport package. I don't know how it happened, but my father told me that the Sport package now was a mandatory option, he liked the Panoramic roof that much. To me, it was all music to my ears.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Then, we followed him to the back lot where I saw a GORGEOUS Red Golf with all of the options exactly inverted of what I would've liked. It had a DSG, No Sunroof, and just not what I wanted, but I was really happy to be able to see it in person in red. After having a long talk we returned to the dealership to talk about pricing, and getting everything in order.

The next morning, my father and I went to the dealership to make the first payment of the car. When it was cashed in by the dealership, they started searching for the exact configuration I wanted, as well as color. Here it is how I will choose my car:

Model: Comfortline Manual

Color: (Surprise!)

Interior Color: (Surprise!)

Options: Sport Package

Engine: 1.4 TSI Bluemotion, 6 Speed Manual

I cant believe the way things turned out to be in the end. All I know is that I will take care of this car as if it were my baby. I will keep it going for as long as I can, and I will thank my father every time I can. I have this amazing family who gave me the support and money to buy my "dream" car, and I cant be more thankful for it.

Haha thanks Vince! I have thought about it, and got the great suggestion of Rolf. (Thank you PeterV5potFanboy). But I am thinking about a female name as well.

Because I am one of the many people here who still make the case of stick shift vehicles! The DSG is a sweet unit, but its overpriced for an Auto, and I got used to the fun and control of the stick!

Nope! Bluemotion means start/stop system in gas engined cars.

And thanks very much Logan! Heres something you will enjoy

Okay, I thought maybe because Mercedes diesels were BlueTEC, blue meant diesel to German companies. Goes to show my way of thinking.

WE'RE NOT ALL LIKE THAT I PROMISE. (Yes I understand it's a satire thing)

No problem, I also wouldn't have put the Blue motion badge on the back below the badge that states it is turbocharged. Weird. Still, I will be bringing a detailed review and everything. But now, I have to wait for the longest days of my life until the car Arrives.

Haha I know they aren't all like that. I just laughed probably too much.

It is... Today the salesman sent me an e-mail and I shouted of sheer emotion. Only to find out that they JUST started to look for the car and communicate to the factory. But well, patience is virtue.

Haha, so fake.
